Craigiemains Home & Garden Centre, Ballantrae

A garden centre with a large variety of plants which also provides a wonderful array of freshly made meals and homemade sweet treats…what’s not to love? There is ample parking, a getaway onto the Ayrshire Coastal Path and a gift shop within the cafe. Described as a ‘gem in a sea of sand’, Craigiemains is a must-stop if you’re travelling along the Ayrshire Coast.

Ropes’, Maidens

Enjoy views over the harbour whilst you enjoy your meal at Ropes’. It is the perfect place for a light lunch and a refreshing drink after spending the day at the beach. They are only open throughout the summer months, therefore make sure you make a visit then.

Wilding’s Hotel & Restaurant, Maidens

Wilding’s has been an extremely popular food destination for years. They have a variety of dishes on their menu but their fish courses are a must-try; fresh from the sea and land. Their specials are updated often with recent dishes including pan-fried plaice fillet with buttered asparagus and braised beef in a rich red wine jus served on a potato fondant. With fabulous food as well as comfortable bedrooms with sea views, Wilding’s is a superb spot.

The King’s Arms, Ballantrae

At the centre of Ballantrae’s village life, The Kings Arms is a friendly local where you can enjoy food and drink. Purchased by The Ballantrae Trust in 2020, The Kings was transformed into a welcoming hub for the locals. It’s the last stop on the road on the A77 before getting the ferry to Ireland, therefore make sure to visit on your passing.

Graziano’s Harbour Cafe, Girvan

Graziano’s is a small yet mighty family-run fish and chip shop that offers both sit-in and takeaway. It ticks all the boxes of the ultimate fish and chip shop: locally sourced food, friendly banter, next to the seaside, a large selection of deep-fried delights, large portion sizes and extremely flavoursome meals. It’s a must-stop for everyone passing Girvan.

David’s Snack Bar, Girvan

Serving a variety of products for over 20 years, David’s Snack Bar is an exceptionally popular pitstop. Whether you want soup, a light bite, coffee, cake, or ice cream, the snack bar provides all of the delicious goodies. Situated in a large car park just outside Girvan, it’s not often there’s a space free due to the popularity of here.

Dowhill Farm, Turnberry

Conveniently situated beside the roadside on the A77, Dowhill Farm is an admired farm shop and cafe. Additionally, the prominent Ayrshire new potatoes are grown and harvested in the surrounding fields. Their Pumpkin Festival is always popular during the autumnal months.
